Breakdown
Jeff Manship was drafted by the Twins in the 14th round of the 2006 draft. He has been a great surprise for the Twins after falling to them in the draft and he continues to look promising. Last season, is numbers weren't quite as dominating as they were in 2007, but they were still good. He had a fantastic half-season in Ft. Myers and after spending an entire year in the Florida State League, he finally was promoted to the Eastern League. He struggled upon arrival in New Britain, but he maintain about his same K/BB ratio and continued to have about the same ground ball tendancies. The hitters in Double-A are much better than they are in Single-A and he found that out. I expect him to have a much better go around this time in New Britain. He has been promoted mid-season in the past, and I expect that trend to continue this season. I expect to see him in Rochester around mid-season. The only thing working against Manship is his age. He's already 24-years-old and although it doesn't really matter when you get to the majors as long as you're effective, his ratings will likely drop in many prospect lists from here on out.

2009 Outlook
Manship will most likely continue to do what he's been doing and that's start in the same league as he finished the year before and advance mid-season. He could be up for a September call-up if he pitches well enough.
