Breakdown
The Twins drafted Brian Dozier in the 8th round of the 2009 draft. After a very successful career at Southern Miss. most expected Dozier to be drafted between the 3rd-6th rounds of the draft. But Dozier broke his collarbone early in April and missed two months due to the injury. Teams passed on Dozier in the draft due to the injury and he fell into the Twins' laps in the 8th round. Dozier doesn't have much power, hitting just 16 home runs in college, but he makes good contact and shouldn't have trouble hitting over .300. He's gotten on-base at a very high average throughout his career and should continue hitting at the top of the order. Defensively, Dozier played a great shortstop in college and shouldn't have a problem remaining there.

2010 Outlook

Dozier will begin the season as the everyday shortstop with the Beloit Snappers. With four years of college under his belt, he should be able to move quickly through the system. But that's also what we thought when they drafted Brian Dinkelman, so hopefully he forces their hand and makes them promote him.

I think he will be Adam Everett with a decent batting average.
