The Twins acquired a former Red Wing today when they got outfielder Darnell McDonald from the Washington Nationals. In return, the Nationals got back Rule V pick, Lavele Speinger. Since Speigner cleared waivers, he'll be able to be sent down to AAA Columbus where he is likely going to join the rotation there.
McDonald was batting .315 with 2 dingers, 41 ribbies and 14 swipes with the Clippers this season. McDonald was a former Red Wing when he played in the Baltimore Oriole organization.
The Twins definitely got a good deal for Speigner.
