Breakdown
The Arizona Diamondbacks drafted Brett Anderson in the 2nd round of the 2006 draft. On December 14, 2007, the Diamondbacks traded Anderson along with a slew of promising prospects to the Athletics in exchange for Dan Haren. In his first season in the A's system, Anderson made great strides towards making the big leagues and pitched 'lights out' as a 20-year-old in 6 starts in Double-A. Anderson has great movement on his pitches to go along with a low-mid 90's fastball. Although having movement on pitches is great, his best quality is his ability to command all of his pitches. He has a 5.06 K/BB ratio through 225 1/3 innings pitched since being drafted. He also has a lot of experience pitching on a big stage including the 2009 Olympics, MLB Future's Game and he also pitched the championship game for Triple-A Sacarmento last season. He projects as a #2-3 starter in the majors.
