Earlier this evening, Johan Santana agreed to a contract extension with the Mets worth $137,500,000 million over 6 years. The total amount of his contract will be $150,750,000 over 7 years (including his $13,250,000 salary for 2008). The only thing that is holding this thing from being completely done is Santana's physical which is supposed to be done sometime on Saturday.
I personally hope that he he has a great career in a Mets uniform and can help them reach the World Series this season. I'm definitely a bigger Mets 'fan' than I already was. And they were one of my favorite teams to begin with.
